Hitcents & EyeOn Automation Featured on ABC WHAS 11

Louisville, Ky. – February 15, 2008- WHAS11 News took an in-depth look at the amazing technology that is giving Patrick Henry Hughes his independence.

The technology advances by Hitcents’ and their contributions to ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, featuring the Hughes family of Louisville, Ky, were highlighted by WHAS 11 in Louisville this week. In preparation for the airing of the Extreme Makeover episode on Sunday, WHAS broadcast a week long series of remarkable stories behind the home construction.

Patrick Henry Hughes, 19, was born without eyes and without the ability to fully straighten his arms and legs, making him unable to walk. Patrick attends the University of Louisville and plays trumpet in the marching band. His father, Patrick John Hughes, works nights at UPS so that he may attend classes and marching band practice with Patrick Henry during the day. Hughes and his family were selected in November 2007 to receive an ABC Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

EyeOn Automation installed one of their home automation systems for the Hughes family. Special voice activated electronic equipment was prepared for the home and the EyeOn crew worked diligently to install the system during the home construction.

WHAS anchor Doug Proffitt called Hitcents founders Clinton and Chris Mills, “the masterminds behind the technology inside ABC's Extreme Makeover Home in Louisville.”

The home is equipped with technology that is able to respond to 350 verbal commands, from opening doors to changing the channel on the flat-screen television to telling the time or outside temperature.

The two-hour Extreme Makeover: Home Edition special airs Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 7 p.m. CST on ABC.
